If you love bending infrastructure to your will and watching an application scale beyond reasonable expectations, we'd love to talk. We're looking for a system operations lead to help us keep availability crazy high and response times absurdly low.

You:

• Love innovating and abusing your stack to precisely the results you're looking for.
• Understand the benefits of being extremely diligent up front so you can be ridiculously lazy later on.
• Can profile your way out of a paper bag (or super slow page).
• Are passionate about data in bases (both yes and noSQL), data in caches (memcached, Redis), data in transit. Just... data.
• Are able to quickly and efficiently debug problems, even if it involves using netstat... at 3:00AM.
• Possess the moral character necessary for putting up with system monitoring/health tools like Cacti, Nagios, Ganglia, etc.
• Have experience with management and production tools like Chef, Puppet, mcollective, Capistrano, Jenkins, etc.
• Have plenty of experience with bash scripting, network architecture / load balancing, and piping to /dev/null.

Familiarity with (or expertise in) cloud and multi-data center architecture, virtualization, CDNs, and C / C++ are all big pluses.
